Phetsavanh C. Coggin LCPC
Phet is a licensed clinical professional counselor who specializes in providing individual counseling for adults, adolescents, children and their families. She received her Master’s degree in counseling from Northern Illinois University. Her experience includes working in the community outpatient agency, hospital, and school settings. Phet has working knowledge of IEPs and 504 plans, and continues to collaborate with schools with recommendations while advocating for her client’s needs. She has extensive experience working with clients in crisis and assisting with stabilization.
Phet’s approach is client-centered and individualized to meet her client’s current needs.
Her goal is to assist clients to reach their potential well being through education, teaching, and modeling skills, while assisting to identify barriers that prevent change. She is an empathic and compassionate listener who assists her clients in creating positive changes. Her therapy approach is guided by Dialectical-Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Cognitive Processing therapies.
As Phet views humankind as ever-changing, she analyzes and imparts valuable counsel to her clients accordingly. Phet recognizes the complexities and sophistication of today’s society and the diverse residents living in it; she is also able to discern that each client is unique. Her versatile approach, therefore, is key in restoring clients conﬁdence, core values, and competence.
